What is blue tooth?

I had my cell phone for a couple of months now and i still dont know what blue tooth is.

What is blue tooth?
Blue Tooth is wireless communications between devices.
Reply:It is a built in short range wireless radio. You can use it to transfer files between 2 phones, a phone and a computer, etc. You can use it to create a wireless dial up network for your laptop, you can use it with Bluetooth headsets, or Bluetooth handsfree kits, maybe built into your car.

That is my basic explanation.
Reply:u r stupid! 21st century dude! who doesnt no that???
Reply:Bluetooth is an industrial specification for wireless personal area networks (PANs). Bluetooth provides a way to connect and exchange information between devices such as mobile phones, laptops, PCs, printers, digital cameras and video game consoles via a secure, globally unlicensed short-range radio frequency.

Bluetooth is a radio standard and communications protocol primarily designed for low power consumption, with a short range (power class dependent: 10 metres, 100 metres) based around low-cost transceiver microchips in each device.

Bluetooth lets these devices communicate with each other when they are in range. The devices use a radio communications system, so they do not have to be in line of sight of each other, and can even be in other rooms, so long as the received transmission is powerful enough.

To make it simple, it's like "infrared communication" (IR) but a lot faster, wider range or distance and doesn't require direct line of sight or contact.
Reply:a tooth thats blue

duh
Reply:Bluetooth is a wireless (radio) way your phone can communicate with things it needs or can use.commonest are-a handsfree earpiece/headset-you don't have to be holding the phone-it could be in your pocket,or on the table near You-when the phone rings, just press a button on the headset and talk to whoever is calling..some phones support voice dialling through bluetooth-press the button on the headset, say a name that you have "taught " the phone to recognise, and it will call the number for You.You can use bluetooth to transfer or update your phonebook using a program on Your computer,or if You have a camera phone, transfer the photos wirelessly to a bluetooth printer.
