Explain blue tooth to me?

i got a cell phone that is "blue tooth" capable. and it has the option of turning blue tooth on and off. What is blue tooth. what is it good for?

Explain blue tooth to me?
Blue tooth is a type of wireless communication which is usually reserved for communications between two devices that are in close proximity to one another. Examples include a printer that can connect to a blue tooth compatible computer without wires or on the Nintendo Wii, blue tooth technology allows you to use the remote wirelessly with the game console.

In your case on a cell phone, blue tooth is used for 2 main things. 1, to transfer data (pictures, video, phone numbers ect...) between your phone and another blue tooth compatible phone or other device and 2, to enable you to use a wireless headset that is blue tooth compatible.

Hope that helps!
