XP can't find USB Blue Tooth Adaptor?
I have a blue tooth adaptor, Belkin F8T001 ver 2. I had no problem with hooking it up to my laptop which ran ME. Now, if I hook it up to the desk top running XP it recognizes a blue tooth but never quite sees the device.
I downloaded the latest drivers and software from Belkin and that doesn't seem to help. The unit appears to be working with the light flashing. The computer can't see it and the cellphone I'm trying to pair it with can't see it.

Try this.
Click Start %26gt;%26gt; Run .. and type devmgmt.msc to open device manager.
1. In Device Manager, right-click the "Belkin Bluetooth Adapter" and select "Update driver" (or the plus sign next to Bluetooth Devices)
2. Select "Install from a list or specific location Advanced)" -%26gt; Next
3. Select "Don't search, I will choose the driver to install" -%26gt; Next
4. There should be two options: "Belkin Bluetooth Adapter" and "Belkin Bluetooth Device". "Belkin Bluetooth Device" is not digitally signed. Select it and click Next.
It worked for me because it's a total pain in the proverbial :)

i have just bought bt900-d blue tooth device in connection with car radio handsfree kit. it say,s you can pair upto 4 phones on it. i have paired my 2 phones one a nokia the outher sony-ericsson. one phone will work as hands free,while outher phone will not.and vicer-versa.

Any Bluetooth device will transmit the following sets of information on demand
Device Name
Device Class
List of services
Technical information eg: device features, manufacturer, Bluetooth specification, clock offset
Any device may perform an "inquiry" to find other devices to which to connect, and any device can be configured to respond to such inquiries. However if the device trying to connect knows the address of the device it will always respond to direct connection requests and will transmit the information shown in the list above if requested for it. Use of the device's services however may require pairing or its owner to accept but the connection itself can be started by any device and be held until it goes out of range. Some devices can only be connected to one device at a time and connecting to them will prevent them from connecting to other devices and showing up in inquiries until they disconnect the other device.
Every device has a unique 48-bit address. However these addresses are generally not shown in inquiries and instead friendly "Bluetooth names" are used which can be set by the user, and will appear when another user scans for devices and in lists of paired devices. Most phones have the Bluetooth name set to the manufacturer and model of the phone by default. Most phones and laptops will only show the Bluetooth names and special programs are required to get additional information about remote devices. This can get confusing with activities such as Bluejacking as there could be several phones in range named "T610" for example. On Nokia phones the Bluetooth address may be found by entering "*#2820#". On computers running Linux the address and class of a USB Bluetooth dongle may be found by entering "hciconfig hci0 class" as root ("hci0" may need to be replaced by another device name).

Nokia PC Suite - cannot complete connection (BLUE-TOOTH)?
I am using a Nokia 6230i and I have installed the nokia suite and purchased a IVT BlueSoleil USB (blue tooth dongle). I have installed the USB software.
When I click get connected on the nokia PC software I choose blue booth, then IVT BlueSoleil, then my phone name, and click next. I keep th password of 123 and click next.
BUT then it cannot complete the connection at the bottom left of my screen it says connection failed.
How can I make it complete the connection. I have switched my blue tooth on and made it visible

Moreover your friend is right, it may be posible of getting viruse threw blutooth. In addition viruses never install automatically, it only install if you click download or install button. So better never install or download any softwares or files if you are not expect to get that files

Moreover your friend is right, it may be posible of getting viruse threw blutooth. In addition viruses never install automatically, it only install if you click download or install button. So better never install or download any softwares or files if you are not expect to get that files

I am looking at buying a GPS (girmin - zumo 550). Its design for motorcycles. The question is: I want to be able to talk to my pasensger, both of us to be able to listen to the mp3 , hear the directions from the GPS, and be able to talk on the cell phone. There are good single options available to connect all these devices. I suggest getting an Autocom unit. They all interface with it. Nolan is now making a Bluetooth helmet, and they are great quality products. Marsee also makes some tanks bags to hook it all up inside. Brace yourself, it can get pricey if you want to do it right!
Just don't try to use them all at once!! ;-)

I know that the bluetooth uses alot of battery when u are idle, but does it also deprive the battery life when on a call? i have a plan that lets me talk unlimitedly and i use the phone hours on end but does useing the bluetooth on a call rather than the actual phone save or use more battery? I turn the blue tooth off when im not on call and on only when i am bc i know that deprives the battery but on a call for an hour or two helps or hurts my battery life?

Reply:u cant sync them directly. ur cell phone comes with a software install it and after installation when u open the application it asks to connect ur phone to system by three ways usb, bluetooth, infrared. turn on blutooth feature in both computer and phone and try to establish a connection. make sure when u do this ur phone should not be connected to any other blutooth device like headset..good luck

My girl has a Razor aswell, she can do just about anything from here to her razor. the blue tooth should have come with the usb cordless jack if it did not take it back to the store and get a refund or a new blue tooth package.

of passkey prob. mobile ask's for passkey, tried1234 other numbers no,joy, When installing software wasn't asked for any passkey laptop is connected to mobile but mobile wont connect to laptop dont know pin number.

I met a Navy friend, he is still in, I am retired, at the Atlanta airport during a layover he had. During our conversation we got on the subject of the great "BlueTooth" technology. We compared my H700 to his Navy issued Jabra Jawbone. He said he always was clear at both ends.
When I got home I went to www.CNET.com, reviewed as one of the best. I ordered from TigerDirect.com, at first was not impressed, but I noticed something, no one complained about outside noise, fading, even in crowds I could hear clearly as well as those I was talking to said I was very clear. I have been using for a month and love it. My mom had problems hearing me on the Motorola H700 due to her bad hearing anyway, but since I have been calling from the Jabra she hears me clearly with no, "I cannot hear what you said".
Very happy Motorola H700 user at $40.00, now more than extremely satisfied with the Jabra Jawbone, $89.00. Plantronics makes a superb unit as well but I cannot stand something actually stuck in my ear as many of their better models do.

i have a samsung m-300 sprint phone with blue tooth on it. i have the blue tooth on.but nobody's phone can send me stuff. the sprint store said that they limit the blue tooth in their phones. but my friends have told me that there is no way they can block a blue tooth since they have no control over it. is there a way to get around sprint and unlock it ?

I think this belongs to the mobile phones, not Land Phones. :) Sprint can not lock your bluetooth, BUT it all depends on the bluetooth version on the M300. It might not be compatible with all the devices you are trying to pair it up with. Also, consider the type of information you are trying to send/receive. The M300 is a very basic device, so I doubt you would be able to transfer anything other than the audio stream to a wireless headset, or a contact from your contact list.

My 2002 BMW X5 has a blue tooth set up on it but i cant figure out how to work it. My phone wont find it and i have no idea what the buttons in the car mean. Anyone help me with a site with the manual or something? It was supposed to have a seperate manual just for it but its gone.

What you want to do is "Pair Phone" which you can use the radio knob to turn through the selections, or simply push the voice activation button and say "Pair Phone."
She will walk you through the rest...

If you have paired up both units it should work fine, since its not maybe you need to change the settings on your phone to "available" or auto connect. I hope this helps.

My boyfriend sent me file transfers of MP3 ringtones through blue tooth from his blackberry pearl to my motorola SLVR.
How do i find the ringtones? I searched in the MP3 player, the sounds, and went to change the ringtone and it wasn't listed.
My sister does this all the time with her motorola razor and has no problems... any suggestions?
