Not usually. If you want stereo sound, Motorola makes a plug in stereo headset for the SLVR L7 that automatically mutes when you get an incoming call, then resumes playing once the call is complete. Even has the answer/end + microphone. Ok, so it has wires, but its stereo! You can get it pretty reasonable here:

Put the phone in a holster or carrying case, plug in the headset and you would be good to go. If you are going to use it as an iPod anyway, no big deal having the headset, plus it's Motorola
