Do I need a blue tooth?

yeah another question:

I'm building a Dell and it's asking me if I want a blue tooth for my laptop

Here are my options:

Dell Wireless 355 Bluetooth Internal (2.0 + Enhanced Data Rate) [$80 or $2/month1]

Dell Bluetooth 2.0 EDR Stereo Headset (w/built-in Mic) [$99 or $2/month1]

do i need one and if so, what would i need it for?

Do I need a blue tooth?
bluetooth is to transfer data without cables (wireles), from any other machine that has bluetooth, like cell phones, speakers, etc, You can always get later on what it's called a bluetooth dongle, on e-bay or something, it looks like a zip drive that you conect to any usb port in your computer, they go for like 15 or 20$.
Reply:Bluetooth is a form of wireless connection... allowing the device to pair up with other devices like cell phones

the first item you listed is the part for the computer and the second is some wireless headphones.

no you dont NEED it but it can be nice to have especially if your phone is bluetooth enabled.

you can also add it later if you wanted to.
Reply:so

it depends on your need of it. normaly blue tooth are good in mobile phone devices it is easy and wire less connection to you laptop.it will be easier of you to connect you phone which is blue tooth enable to connect with your laptop. but it not so much imprtant
Reply:Blue tooth is the new technology for wireless transfer or connection. Ideally you can use blue tooth to connect to other computers or devices and transfer files or connect the device. Like the headset that dell are asking you if you want
Reply:I agree with Eduardo, frankly it is easy enough to just add it later, and according to those prices, a lot cheaper. I wouldn't be surprised if you found that it isn't extremely useful to you to have bluetooth on your system. I do happen to use bluetooth on my laptop, but it is normally just to transfer pictures from my bluetooth enabled phone to my laptop, but the bluetooth USB "dongle" cost me around $20. For example here is a froogle listing of a bunch of adapters:

The bluetooth headset is a nice idea, but again, much cheaper if you didn't get it through dell like that.
