Cell phones that have blue tooth...?

My friend and I both have cell phones that have blue tooth and I know that you can transfer all your ring tones to each other. We tried and can not figure it out. I was told our phones had to be next to each other when it is done. Do you know how??? Please help.

Cell phones that have blue tooth...?
Its really simple frirst you have to go to settings and turn both of your bluetooth on then one of you has to put FIND ME while the other chooses a ringtone from the list opens the sub menu and selects copy it should say finding receivers or something similar the other persons will say that you are receiving a fille the other person will have to put accept, wait a few seconds and voila the other person has o copy of your ringtone
Reply:I don't know what brand of cell phones you have, so my answer will be generic.

Turn on the bluetooth function on both phones and at the same time make sure that you turn on the Find other devices function. While one phone seeks for the other, the other needs to be set where it is findable. Most phones have security built in that even with Bluetooth on, others will not connect to them without your permission.

Once your phone finds the other and achieves connectivity go to your ring tones. There select the ones you want to transfer and one of the options should be Beam file or sound or ring. When you Beam (or Transfer) the file the other phone will prompt you if you want to accept the file(s) being send. Say Yes and Voila!!!

This is a pretty general and generic explaination, because I really don't know what phones you have and whether they have Bluetooth that transmits everything you want, or only sound to a headset. Some Bluetooth phones are limited in transfers they can perform.
Reply:You can't always transfer downloaded ringtones. Sometimes they are locked by your provider. If you can transfer them, they don't have to be directly next to each other, but they do have to be in the same vacinity.

To connect to each other, you both have to turn your bluetooth function on. Then one of you has to search for the other one's device. To finish connecting, you have to input the PIN of the device you are trying to connect to.
Reply:A lot of phone service providers "cripple" their phones' bluetooth features. This is to make you buy ringtones and such from them.
Reply:Depends on what type of phones. You can go to the maker's website for user manuals. Bluetooth works best at no more than 30 - 150 feet away depending on how strong the signal is.
Reply:first you have to turn on bluetooth that is if you have it and no you do not have to be close or next to each other another thing is that a lot of the ring tones are copy witten and will not allow you to send them out unless it is an mp3 but most of the time it will not let you do that
Reply:Turn urs and ur friends bluetooth on first..(try the settings option from the menu) . then go to the ringtone and hit send. It will search all the devices that have blue tooth. chose the one u want and hit send.. By the way which phone u have..
